London Burger Bash 2012

Here's my photographic-burger-memory of the 6 magnificent burgers from this week's fantastic London Burger Bash organised by YoungandFoodish (@burgermonday), all fighting for the coveted 'Golden Patty Award' (above, obviously).

1. Byron's 'Mo Burger Preview', w/ cheddar, pickled red onion, salted cucumber & mustard dill dressing.

2. Comptoir Gascon, duck burger, onions slowly cooked in Camden Ink Stout, geranium petals, fennel and Marmite sauce.
3. Fred Smith's 'Braised Ox Cheek Chilli Cheeseburger' w/ Mexican chillis, jalapeño slaw & special cheese.
4. Racine's 'Hamburger Au Poivre', longhorn chuck w/ mignonette pepper crust & jus, aioli, escarole & Fourme d'Ambert.

5. Bread Street Kitchen's 'Truffy the Vampire Slayer', well aged beef on brioche w/ mushrooms and a horseradish and truffle dressing. (By dressing i think they mean a shitload of truffle shavings on the side)
6. Elliot's, w/ onions, Comté, Ogleshield & dill butter.
The LBB pack came with a burger sticker which you slap on the voting chart when you've decided which was your favourite burger. Simple eh? I voted for Fred and was pleased to see that he took the win. All the burgers were superb, perfectly cooked, super tasty and good looking, but Fred's had that magic Fred Smith patty which just had the edge over everyone else's. I'm looking forward to seeing a "Fred's" restaurant open soon - i'm guessing that must be on the cards.
