Here Piggy-Piggy... Bar Boulud, Knightsbridge

To say i was very excited to try this burger, seeing as it had made the #1 spot on the youngandfoodish top10, was an understatement. I met my cousin there for lunch in May so we could see what all the fuss was about.
The venue is modern, rather suave and was 3/4 empty when we arrived. We ordered a Piggy and a Yankee burger and they came nice and rare. Please ignore the dab of red meat on the bun in the above picture, that was a side effect of cutting the burgers in half so we could share. The meat in both was superb. Tasty, tender and bravely rare in the middle, but seared perfectly around the outside. The patty was light and soft but held together like a champ. The Yankee (with cheese) was pretty much a classic gourmet cheeseburger; a nice light bun, shredded iceberg lettuce, tomato, onions & pickle, sandwiching the melted cheddar encased patty. Very nicely done, but not really the wow factor i was expecting.
The Piggy upped the game quite a bit with the clever addition of just the right amount of pulled pork in a sweet bbq sauce, right on top of the patty. I can't recall ever having a burger with pulled pork in it and yet it seems like such an obvious idea, and along with the lettuce and chilli mayo it makes this burger really quite fantastic!
The only issue i had with Bar Boulud is the portion size. Look at the picture below and you'll see what i mean. These burgers are on the small side if we're being honest and if i'd have known i would have ordered two. I guess we should have ordered the Frenchie burger too and shared that. Oh well, that's yet another reason to go back. and i will be going back. Top marks for this place. But consider ordering more than one.
